Low Craiglemine is near the coast on the Machars peninsula,
in scenic Dumfries and Galloway, Southwest Scotland,
and lies between the quiet villages of Glasserton and Monreith.
The Machars
peninsula is steeped in natural, historical and archaeological interest.
The earliest
communities were established here around 6,000 years ago.
Roman fleets
and Viking marauders have all plied these seas creating
an archaeological
heritage without comparison in Britain.
Sandy beaches and rocky cliffs
form a unique habitat for a variety of flora
and the area is host to a multitude of wild animals and birds - peregrine falcon, barn owl,
puffin, otter, seal, basking shark, hare.
